‘BRAND‘ is a popular name or a word or few letters or few numbers, which is registered under the ‘Trade marks Registration Act’. Generally, companies register the 'BRANDS' for their companies and their products. The 'BRANDS' may be high noted word or few letters of the concerned companies or products. Once it is registered, no other company is permitted to use the same Brand, other than the registered company.
'BRAND' creates the value to the company and also creates the value to it's products. After some years, it creates the 'Goodwill' and it will become a big asset to the companies concerned. It is a fictitious asset to the company and it can’t visible but valuable and non measurable. Once the Brand name is went into inside the human minds or registered in the minds of the public, no one can change or divert their minds so easily and no one divert to other products. Consumers are also not so easily register the fake Brands in their minds. First, people use the product, test the quality, price, easily available of products, after sales service and organization, promoters, Country etc.,. So, Brands attract the consumers, because of the company organisation, promoters, Country and their high level team personality, Management, Quality of product, prompt delivery and after sales service etc.,. In addition to that to introduce and to remember the products and Brands by the consumers permanently, advertisement in different medias and different styles is more impotrtant. Thus, the advertisement popularise the BRANDS image. And BRANDS increase the image of the companies and theirs products, world wide.
That is the reason, today most of the MNC and other companies Viz.,Colgate, Dabur, Close up, Wheel, Nirma,Rin,HUL,Samsung,Hero, Lifebuoy,Godrej,ITC,TATA, Bata etc., companies are spending about 3 to 10% of their profits for the advertisements.

So,recognition of brand is not so easy. And once it is recognised or remembered, it can not go back from the minds of consumers. If the consumers satisfy the branded products, they can not leave those branded products life long and they buy the products blindly, even if the companies increase price, reduce the quantity or reduce the quality or change the packing or delay in delivery etc.,. That is the greatness of the Brand.
Such a way 'BRAND' will build up the confidence to the consumers. It improves dignity of the consumers. And Captions and Slogans create the interest in products and make remember the BRAND names. Examples of noted long run and olden BRANDS are ‘Life buoy’ , ‘BATA’ , ‘TATA’ , ‘Godrej’ , ‘POND’s’ , ’PHILIPS’ , 'BUSH', 'LG', 'NOKIA' , ‘BSNL’ HUL, 'DABUR', 'ZANDU BALM', 'ZINDATILASMAT', 'jHONSON & JHONSON' 'NIRMA', 'WHEEL','RIN', 'RELIANCE' 'COLGATE', 'CLOSE UP' ASIAN PAINTS,etc., So the BRANDS have so much intrisic value. That is the reason , most of the companies spending about 1 to 5% of profits, for advertisements only, to feed the BRANDS in to the minds of consumers.
In the same way 'Captions' or 'Slogans' are more worthful. These inspires the people to buy the products. We can say, Bhagvan RAMA is a BRAND and HUNUMAN is a CAPTION. so BRAND and CAPTION are inter related. Without good CAPTION, BRAND can not be remembered just like. Hence, for each and every new product there must be a 'Caption' to attract the consumers of past , current and future generations, based on their desires and trends. Where as the Brand may be one for the one company or for the whole group of companies. For example, let’s take Hindustan Unilever Ltd. There are no of products under HUL Brand and there are no of 'Captions' or 'Slogans'.In another example, let's take Reliance group of industries. Here "Reliance" is the Brand for all their companies and their several products
'Captions' or 'Slogans' are not only attract the consumers, but also it explains the use or purpose of the product, worth of the product and also recognize the brand and company . 'Captions' are most essential to combine the 'BRANDS'. Hence the selection of 'Captions' or 'Slogans' are very careful and important.

“Berger” is a brand of paint product of Berger paints India ltd. It’s caption is “Weather coat All guard’
